ISO Workshop is a quick and powerful program designed to burn CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray disks. You can use the program to extract image files, create bootable CDs and DVDs, and convert more obscure disk image file types to .iso and .bin files.
By using ISO Workshop, you can conveniently back up your favorite CDs, DVDs, and Blu-ray disks onto your computer by extracting the contents and saving them as .iso or .bin files. By using this together with a virtual drive emulator, you can save your data onto your hard drive in an image file and boot it straight from the computer, without burning anything to a blank disk.
The program layout is easy to understand. When you run the program, you are immediately taken to a screen where you can choose from a variety of features including: make an image, burn an image, extract files from a disk, backup your disk, and convert image formats to .iso. When you click the button labeled “Make”, you will be able to choose if you want to make a CD, DVD, Blu-ray, or DVD-Video ISO type. Then simply add the files you want to include in your image and press the “Make” button.
Burning an image is even easier; you simply choose an image file on your computer, which could be the one you just used when you accessed the “Make” feature, and select your CD-ROM drive.
ISO Workshop is an excellent tool for managing ISO files. It is free and can do a lot of the work that premium software, like Nero, does. If you plan on using it professionally, however, you need to buy a license for $19.95. Its only drawback is the actual installation process. It will try to install AVG, a spyware removal program, along with itself. If you don’t want any unexpected software added on your computer, be sure to carefully read everything that is checked when you install.
